I should think it’s well over a 100 years since this cannon was pointed at a ship in anger (if it ever was), now this very old cannon is standing outside the old RNLI station at Port Askaig at the Sound of Islay. The still quite new departing MV Finlaggan below the Paps of Jura in the distance.
A slightly older picture (the causeway has been widened since) of Kennacraig on a sunny April afternoon. A West Coast Motors coach is arriving in time for the Islay ferry MV Isle of Arran (now a relief boat) coming in.
